CARING AND SHARING WITH LOVE


         
The students from Mary Immaculate, Borivali came to Bosco Boys’ Home (BBH) respectively on the 19th and 20th of December with celebrate and spread the spirit of Christmas to the boys of the orphanage. The trip was organised by the Management and staff of Mary Immaculate Primary and High School section. It was divided into two batches on the 19th the Primary section and on the next day the Secondary section. The students were accompanied by Sr. Payal, MSA and the other staffs from the school.

The students started with an introduction by playing an icebreaker game wherein they got to know the names of the boys. Then the programme started with the pictorial description, carol singing and a skit beautifully enacting the Nativity of the Lord explaining to the boys about the real meaning of Christmas. After which the boys of BBH also melodiously sang for them a Hindi and a Marathi Christmas Carols. Shardha Jain, one of the students told, “This is a very graceful period where we can feel the joy, peace and happiness of Jesus. Through this visit we want to give you this message of always remember Be Joyful, Hopeful and Cheerful and you will be a blessing to everyone.”

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks given by the Director of BBH, Fr. Corlis Gonsalves. He thanked the students for their generosity and kindness shown towards these poor boys and assured them of God’s precious blessings. On behalf of the Management of Mary Immaculate, Borivali, Sr. Payal said, “Thanks to the Salesians and the staff for accepting our invitation and giving us these precious time to share with the boys the joy and peace of Jesus Chrisit.”    

Sharing his experience one of the boy, Sujal Katara said, “Christmas is a season of giving. They very beautifully enacted the Nativity of the Lord with the help of both visual and audio help. This experience has taught me we have to share our gifts and talents and take care of each other and do all this lovingly to bring happiness in everyone’s faces like Jesus Christ.”

The children sang songs, recited shayari, danced and played animated games with Helly. Helly Shah is an Indian television actress famous for her roles as Swara in Swaragini, Devanshi in Devanshi and Kaynaat in Sufiyana Pyaar Mera.   Helly Shah applauded the children for their enthusiasm, cheerfulness and energy. While speaking to children her advice was ‘to focus on their studies and to be obedient to their teachers and staff.’ Abbu Murugan, NIOS boys from BBH said, “Thankyou Helly Shah didi and India TV for visiting us. It was very great to see Helly didi, she so kind and loving. “Praise the Lord for all His wonders to me!” captures Fr. Aloysius inner sentiments as he celebrated his 60th year of the First Religious Profession on the 24th of May, 2020. He renewed his religious vows to live the Evangelical Counsels and to labor for the salvation of souls as he follows the footsteps of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, and in the spirit of our father and founder St John Bosco. Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb, the Rector of BBH while celebrating this moment of grace and blessing thanked the Almighty for the gift of Fr. Aloysius Furtado (Alu, as he is fondly known among his near and dear ones) to the Salesian Congregation. He thanked Fr. Alu for the inspiration and motivation he is to the younger generation and congratulated him for his faithfulness and fidelity to God for these fruitful years.
