Learning Beyond…



From 30th October to 3rd November, 2019, few of the school going boys of Bosco Boys Home (BBH), Borivali participated in the camp organised by the NGO ‘Our Children’ at Yusuf Meheralli centre at Panvel. 9 boys from BBH accompanied by a staff attended the camp along with the other 10 NGO’s. The Theme for the camp was ‘Learning Beyond’ i.e. discovering one’s self and building of self-confidence.

During the camp days, the boys were introduced to indwelling fire, slack lining, puppet show, toy making, mime art, mallakhamb and even taught magic. The camp also had hike to Karnala fort, visits to Oil mill, Soap factory and Pottery department.


The camp was indeed an experience of learning, adventure and enjoyment.

On the occasion of Children’s day, the children of Bosco Boys Home (BBH), Borivali were joined in their celebration by famous T.V Actress Helly Shah along with the crew of India TV. The children sang songs, recited shayari, danced and played animated games with Helly. Helly Shah is an Indian television actress famous for her roles as Swara in Swaragini, Devanshi in Devanshi and Kaynaat in Sufiyana Pyaar Mera.   Helly Shah applauded the children for their enthusiasm, cheerfulness and energy. While speaking to children her advice was ‘to focus on their studies and to be obedient to their teachers and staff.’ Abbu Murugan, NIOS boys from BBH said, “Thankyou Helly Shah didi and India TV for visiting us. It was very great to see Helly didi, she so kind and loving. AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM

“Praise the Lord for all His wonders to me!” captures Fr. Aloysius inner sentiments as he celebrated his 60th year of the First Religious Profession on the 24th of May, 2020. He renewed his religious vows to live the Evangelical Counsels and to labor for the salvation of souls as he follows the footsteps of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, and in the spirit of our father and founder St John Bosco. Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb, the Rector of BBH while celebrating this moment of grace and blessing thanked the Almighty for the gift of Fr. FAREWELL TO BR. SHELDON DIAS SDB AND WELCOME TO DN. ROMERO D’SOUZA SDB

Farewell to Sheldon & Welcome to Romero Our boys were enjoying the company of Br. Sheldon for the past 2 weeks. He really made our life in Bosco Boys Home interesting. We had a farewell party for Br. Sheldon Dias who has opted to work for the mission of Gambia in Africa. He studied in the Salesian school till the 8 th Standard after which he was selected and decided to be an Aspirant at Don Bosco Lonavala. He stayed there from 9 th to 12 th (HSC). He did his Pre novitiate in Goa and his Novitiate in Nashik where he expressed his feelings to the novice master of the missions; but was asked to finish his philosophy and then decide which he completed at Nashik. After which he was send to do his Practical Training in Gujarat, Narukot. The house catered to the tribals of the region, there he enjoyed working though at times life was hard and the boys appreciated his presence.
