Learning Beyond…



From 30th October to 3rd November, 2019, few of the school going boys of Bosco Boys Home (BBH), Borivali participated in the camp organised by the NGO ‘Our Children’ at Yusuf Meheralli centre at Panvel. 9 boys from BBH accompanied by a staff attended the camp along with the other 10 NGO’s. The Theme for the camp was ‘Learning Beyond’ i.e. discovering one’s self and building of self-confidence.

During the camp days, the boys were introduced to indwelling fire, slack lining, puppet show, toy making, mime art, mallakhamb and even taught magic. The camp also had hike to Karnala fort, visits to Oil mill, Soap factory and Pottery department.


The camp was indeed an experience of learning, adventure and enjoyment.

AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM

“Praise the Lord for all His wonders to me!” captures Fr. Aloysius inner sentiments as he celebrated his 60th year of the First Religious Profession on the 24th of May, 2020. He renewed his religious vows to live the Evangelical Counsels and to labor for the salvation of souls as he follows the footsteps of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, and in the spirit of our father and founder St John Bosco. I AM THERE FOR YOU

Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi , is a Hindu festival centred around the tying of a thread or ornamental bracelet on the right wrist as a form of bond and ritual protection between brother and sister. The day signifies the mutual bond of love between siblings. On the 26 th of August, 2018, a group of volunteers visited Bosco Boys Home, Borivali on this sacred occasion of Rakshabandhan. Amid the sound of light instrumentals and a prayerful atmosphere, the volunters one by one began to apply tilak to the forehead of the boys and to tie the sacred thread of Rakhi to the wrist of the boys and did arati praying for their good health and long life. One of the volunteers explained, “This thread, represents love and sublime sentiments, is called the ‘Raksha Bandhan’ which means ‘a bond of protection’.” Keeping the tradition of the brother offering a gift to his sister and vows to look after her.
