On the 26th of January, Bosco
Boys Home, (BBH) Borivali had staged “ARMAAN SAB…KA”, a musical play done
by the boys of BBH as a sign of gratitude for their
benefactors, volunteers and well-wishers, to say a Big Thank you to them for
their constant love, care and support. It was based on the life of an orphan,
who grew up on the streets, encounters many helping hands in his life and how
after landing in BBH, fulfills his dream (armaan) of attaining happiness and
freedom and overcomes his inner struggles.
Many people who came to view it
appreciated the play. Among them, an N.G.O named Youth for Unity and Voluntary
Action (YUVA) approached and asked BBH to restage the Musical for their
“ComplexCity: Connecting Experiences” programme as part of the “Culture Kaun:
Expressions across the City” event held on 16 February, 2019 at Sai Baba Park
Evershine Nagar, Malad. Also present were many other N.G.O's from the city of
Mumbai, who came and also presented different songs, dance, skits, and music.
The act performed
by the boys of BBH was received with lots of applauses and positive vibes. The
charisma and the power filled acting by the boys brought forth a lot of emotional
sentiments being tied up, and many asking to be a part of the Bosco Boys Home
family by volunteering and sponsoring.
YUVA was formally registered on 30th
August, 1984 as a voluntary development organization supporting and empowering
the oppressed and marginalized by primarily concentrating on their human
rights. As part of their many activities, this year they are conducting a
programme called “ComplexCity: Connecting Experiences” which is basically
celebration of the city in all its diversity by inviting every urban inhabitant
to share their experiences of the city with one another.
“ComplexCity: aims to further the dialogue on
urban values, history, culture, socio-economic realities, and much more. So as
to create an awareness about the current situation of our city and how to
improve it and make it better. Through “Culture Kaun,” we aim to organize a
series of cultural expressions across the ComplexCity festival, showcasing
unique local traditions, music and dance performances, and poetry recitations
to expose people to existing narratives of the city they may have not explored
before. We thank Bosco Boys Home for been part of our event by putting up such
a wonderful musical play and helping us to highlight the issues of children
belonging to category of poor and abandoned,” said Sachin Nachnekar the event
coordinator for YUVA.
“I was very happy to do the play one more time. It
means the people really liked it and hope they call us again. I was also
impressed by the various items performed by other groups. I thank YUVA for
giving this platform to display our talent,” shared Prince Chavda.
Deacon Romero D’Souza, the Prefect of Studies who
accompanied the boys to the event thanked and congratulated the YUVA group for
the good work they our doing for the society.
