LIVE THE DREAM



      





MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 13, 2019: “There is no greater violence than to deny the dreams of children.” The words spoken by the great Kailash Satyarthi, children’s rights activist, a noble peace recipient and the founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan inspired the 5th standard students of VIBGYOR High School, Borivali to have an outreach cum field trip to Bosco Boys Home (BBH), and spend some quality with the children staying here at BBH on 13th February, 2019 from 9.30am to 11am. The event was coordinated by Ms. Grenil Menezes, the staff of VIBGYOR High School on behalf of the Principal Ms. Diana Isabel in collaboration with Bosco Boys Home for creating an awareness and to enthuse, enlighten and empower the children with the message to dream big and to achieve it.
        
On reading the chapter on Kailash Satyarthi, the child’s rights activist, the students of standard 5th along with their teachers Mrs. Lipi Joshi, Mrs. Niharika Singh and Ms. Grenil Menezes (the one who coordinated the event), decided to visit BBH and conduct a field trip so as to gain a real life experience of the work done by the society to protect innocent poor and abandoned children, and help them fulfill their dreams. They came well prepared with a programme consisting of songs, dance, games and snacks. The theme for the programme was to “Dream big and strive to achieve it.” The students beautifully sang the songs: “You’re an Overcomer” and “Hum Hoge Kamiyab” delighting and motivating all present to never give up in life. An added entertainment was the fusion dance “Taal se Taal.” To top it all the Boys of Bosco Boys Home also joined with a freestyle cum hip-hop fusion dance with 8 songs infused. After which two of the students from the school came forward to share in brief, the life story of Kailash Satyarthi, children’s rights activist. Deacon Romero D’Souza on behalf of the management, staff and the children thanked the staff and students for their kind and loving gesture. He also briefed them about the Institute and the work done here at BBH and about the founder Don Bosco. He also shared with them the famous dream of Don Bosco when he was nine years old, which has become a living reality today and encouraged all to dream big and live the dream. The students interacted with the boys of BBH and concluded the programme with the dance session along with the distribution of sandwiches and soft drinks.   

“A Big Thank you to the management, staff and boys of Bosco Boys Home for sharing with us these wonderful, joyful and fruitful moments. It is the right of every child to dream big and to strive to fulfill his dream. So do not give up to the struggles but overcome it with perseverance and hard work.” shared Ms. Menezes, the coordinator of the event.
On asking her experience about the event, one of the girls from the school expressed, “I would like to spend some more time here and would like to help in the activities conducted here because there is so much of liveliness and cheerfulness here.” “It was a learning experience for me. I really liked the work done by Kailash Satyarthi. He along with Don Bosco worked for the poor youngsters like us. I will also become like them when I grow up” also shared Rahul Khavdia one of the boys of BBH.

             On the 24 th of November 2019, Bosco Boys Home, (BBH) Borivali had organized Children’s Day with the theme “ CHALO ASSAMAN KHO CHU LE ”, programme to appreciate the love, smile and happiness brought by the children specially the poor and abandoned to the society and to show to the little ones how much they are loved, cared and cherished by the society.    While welcoming the children, Fr. WELCOME TO DN. XAVIER BANDYA SDB

MUMBAI, JUlY 11, 2019:   Bosco Boys Home, (BBH) Borivali welcomed Dn. Xavier Bandya sdb to their community. He is appointed as the Perfect of Studies and the Catechist of the boys at the Shelter home (YAR cordinator) as well as the Vice Principal of the Technical Institute. Dn. Xavier arrived at BBH, after having completed the course of Bachelor Degree of Theology at Jnana DeepaVidyapeeth (JDV), Pune . Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb, the Director of BBH welcomed Dn. Xavier introduced him to the boys. The boys welcomed him with a melodious “Swagatham Dear Father” song and a beautiful free style dance on the song “Baki sab First Class hai”.
