Bosco Boys Home

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai R-Central ward, Borivli West, Mumbai in collaboration with Bosco Boys Home (BBH) organised a health camp to administer tetanus vaccination to the boys of the Home on July 13. Father Corlis Gonsalves, Rector of the institute, welcomed Doctor Hemant Vakare and his team. Father Gonsalves thanked them for their kind initiative and service offered to the institute. The camp was organised as a preventive measure to help boys and technical students build up their immune system, so as to remain healthy during the monsoons. Deepak Thikkar addressed the gathering about the various monsoon-related diseases, like dengue, malaria and tuberculosis. Installation of Fr. Corlis as the Rector of BBH by Fr. Provincial Godfrey Today the 26 th of June, 2018 the Provincial and his Team came to Bosco Boys Home (BBH), Borivali to install Fr. Corlis Gonsalves as the new Rector. The programme began with a brief meeting with the confreres sharing some ideas about the present situation of the house and the future possibilities to explore. The Rector of BBH, Fr. Corlis Gonsalves, then welcomed the gathering and thanked all present for their presence. After the meeting, the Provincial and his Team along with other confreres accompanied Fr. Corlis to the Chapel where he was officially installed as the Rector of the community. The Provincial Rev Fr. Godfrey D’ Souza shared in his homily that we should be like the Good Shepherd loving and kind to others and be ever ready to serve others. Farewell to Sheldon & Welcome to Romero Our boys were enjoying the company of Br. Sheldon for the past 2 weeks. He really made our life in Bosco Boys Home interesting. We had a farewell party for Br. Sheldon Dias who has opted to work for the mission of Gambia in Africa. He studied in the Salesian school till the 8 th Standard after which he was selected and decided to be an Aspirant at Don Bosco Lonavala. He stayed there from 9 th to 12 th (HSC). He did his Pre novitiate in Goa and his Novitiate in Nashik where he expressed his feelings to the novice master of the missions; but was asked to finish his philosophy and then decide which he completed at Nashik. After which he was send to do his Practical Training in Gujarat, Narukot. The house catered to the tribals of the region, there he enjoyed working though at times life was hard and the boys appreciated his presence.
