INSTALLATION OF THE RECTOR AND TEAM VISIT



Installation of Fr. Corlis as the Rector of BBH by Fr. Provincial Godfrey

Today the 26th of June, 2018 the Provincial and his Team came to Bosco Boys Home (BBH), Borivali to install Fr. Corlis Gonsalves as the new Rector. The programme began with a brief meeting with the confreres sharing some ideas about the present situation of the house and the future possibilities to explore. The Rector of BBH, Fr. Corlis Gonsalves, then welcomed the gathering and thanked all present for their presence. After the meeting, the Provincial and his Team along with other confreres accompanied Fr. Corlis to the Chapel where he was officially installed as the Rector of the community. The Provincial Rev Fr. Godfrey D’ Souza shared in his homily that we should be like the Good Shepherd loving and kind to others and be ever ready to serve others.
The boys also had a small felicitation programme for the Provincial and his Team. They sang a melodious welcome song in Hindi language and read a beautiful address thanking Fr. Godfrey for giving them a new Rector: Fr. Corlis. They further assured Fr. Corlis of their prayers and wishes. In his message to the boys, Fr. Godfrey stressed on the importance of being happy and told them to “Run, Jump and Play but not Sin.”
The programme concluded with a solemn lunch.

“Praise the Lord for all His wonders to me!” captures Fr. Aloysius inner sentiments as he celebrated his 60th year of the First Religious Profession on the 24th of May, 2020. I AM THERE FOR YOU

Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi , is a Hindu festival centred around the tying of a thread or ornamental bracelet on the right wrist as a form of bond and ritual protection between brother and sister. The day signifies the mutual bond of love between siblings. On the 26 th of August, 2018, a group of volunteers visited Bosco Boys Home, Borivali on this sacred occasion of Rakshabandhan. Amid the sound of light instrumentals and a prayerful atmosphere, the volunters one by one began to apply tilak to the forehead of the boys and to tie the sacred thread of Rakhi to the wrist of the boys and did arati praying for their good health and long life. One of the volunteers explained, “This thread, represents love and sublime sentiments, is called the ‘Raksha Bandhan’ which means ‘a bond of protection’.” Keeping the tradition of the brother offering a gift to his sister and vows to look after her.
