FIELD TRIP VISIT TO WATERSTONES



The Batch no. 33 of the Hotel Management Department of the Bosco Boys Home and Technical Institute, Borivali had their 1st field trip visit. An educational visit to the hotel “Waterstones,” located near the International airport in Andheri (East),Mumbai. A flagship property of Mars Enterprises and Hospitality Pvt Ltd.

The Mars Group is a leading player in the food service and hospitality industry in India, promoted by Sanjay Narang. In all 25 students participated in this exposure which was well co-ordinated by Mr.William Sequeria, the instructor of the Facility Management Department of Bosco Boys Home and Technical Institute and by Miss Chetna and Denise the HR Manager of the hotel. The students were guided through the various departments of the hotel by Miss Grace from the training team of the hotel.

“It was good practical approach for our students. To really see how they actually work in such hotels, will make them realise what is expected from them. ” quoted Mr. William. One of the students Sanjay Ekka said “I come from a small village in Jharkhand and have never seen such a big and spacious hotel. I am really thrilled to have got such an experience. It was an eye-opener for me.”

CARING AND SHARING WITH LOVE

          The students from Mary Immaculate, Borivali came to Bosco Boys’ Home (BBH) respectively on the 19 th and 20 th of December with celebrate and spread the spirit of Christmas to the boys of the orphanage. The trip was organised by the Management and staff of Mary Immaculate Primary and High School section. It was divided into two batches on the 19 th the Primary section and on the next day the Secondary section. The students were accompanied by Sr. Payal, MSA and the other staffs from the school. The students started with an introduction by playing an icebreaker game wherein they got to know the names of the boys. Then the programme started with the pictorial description, carol singing and a skit beautifully enacting the Nativity of the Lord explaining to the boys about the real meaning of Christmas. PARENTS MEETING

On the 5 th of November, 2018 the management and staff of Bosco Boys Home had organised a Parents meeting.   As the Diwali holiday came near the children of Bosco Boys Home were in happier mood as they were informed that they would be allowed to go home for few days for the Diwali celebration. Taking his opportunity, the staff decided to have a brief meeting of the children along with their parents informing them about the progress of their child and new projects been prepared for the betterment of the children. Fr. Corlis Gonsalves, the Director of the Institute, welcomed the parents and briefed them about the upcoming programmes been planned for the children and the new rules applied by the Child Welfare Committee for the children regarding the holidays. FAREWELL TO BR. SHELDON DIAS SDB AND WELCOME TO DN. ROMERO D’SOUZA SDB

Farewell to Sheldon & Welcome to Romero Our boys were enjoying the company of Br. Sheldon for the past 2 weeks. He really made our life in Bosco Boys Home interesting. We had a farewell party for Br. Sheldon Dias who has opted to work for the mission of Gambia in Africa. He studied in the Salesian school till the 8 th Standard after which he was selected and decided to be an Aspirant at Don Bosco Lonavala. He stayed there from 9 th to 12 th (HSC). He did his Pre novitiate in Goa and his Novitiate in Nashik where he expressed his feelings to the novice master of the missions; but was asked to finish his philosophy and then decide which he completed at Nashik. After which he was send to do his Practical Training in Gujarat, Narukot. The house catered to the tribals of the region, there he enjoyed working though at times life was hard and the boys appreciated his presence.
