Farewell to Sheldon & Welcome to Romero |
Our boys were enjoying
the company of Br. Sheldon for the past 2 weeks. He really made our life in
Bosco Boys Home interesting. We had a farewell party for Br. Sheldon Dias who
has opted to work for the mission of Gambia in Africa. He
studied in the Salesian school till the 8th Standard after which he
was selected and decided to be an Aspirant at Don Bosco Lonavala. He stayed
there from 9th to 12th (HSC). He did his Pre novitiate in
Goa and his Novitiate in Nashik where he expressed his feelings to the novice
master of the missions; but was asked to finish his philosophy and then decide
which he completed at Nashik. After which he was send to do his Practical
Training in Gujarat, Narukot. The house catered to the tribals of the region,
there he enjoyed working though at times life was hard and the boys appreciated
his presence. The following year he was transferred to Don Bosco Chinchwad,
Pune, Technical Institute. There he was helping in hostel which had more than
200 adults. There he also completed his technical course in welding. Then he
attended his pre perpetual course at Bangalore, during which he realized the
calling to the missions was still strong. So after the Pre perpetual course he
wrote to the Provincial for another year to prepare himself for his perpetual
profession and discernment to the Missions.
Bosco Boys will truly
miss him !!!
Bosco Boys Home, Borivali welcomed Dn.
Romero D’Souza to their community. He is appointed as the Perfect of Studies
and the Catechist of the boys at Shelter home (YAR cordinator) as well as the
Vice Principal of the Technical Institute. Dn. Romero returned from Jerusalem -
Israel, after having completed the course of
Bachelor Degree of Theology. The boys welcomed him
with a melodious song. He promised the boys in the words of Don Bosco "For you I study, for you I work, for you
I live, for you I am ready even to give my life.” And that he is very happy to
be part of the community so that he can share what the Lord has blest him with
especially with his gifts and talents.
With prayerful blessings we wish both Br. Sheldon and
Dn. Romero all the best for their
immediate ministry.
