AWARENESS PROGRAMME REGARDING THE USE OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER



The Management and the Staff of Bosco Boys Home and Technical Institute invited the government licence agency of Ronak Fire Industries, an ISO 9001: 2008 certified company to conduct an awareness programme for the students and boys regarding the use of fire extinguisher on 24 August, 2018 at 10am.

Considering present scenario in Metro politician city of Mumbai, Fire policy has not been taken as a serious issue. The institute of Bosco Boys are more focused in empowering children and youth at vulnerable situation. In our academic study we have added a subject and practical session on safety and prevention of fire. Mr. Bruno D’Mello a resource person gave an orientation with a live demonstration and trained the students and boys regarding the use of fire extinguisher.

The session was divided into six demo programmes each  for Mechanical section , Two wheeler, Four wheeler, Electrican, Air Condition Department, Hotel Management and Social sector children. For the training the students and the boys were accompanied by the staff.

During the orientation, the highlighted points were more focused on prevention measure method taken during accident of fire, different type of fire extinguisher and their function, and the technic of how to operate the fire extinguisher, the places where one should have the fire exits.
Surya one of the boy said “I feel that this session and demonstration will help us in case of fire hazard to come out safely.”

          The students from Mary Immaculate, Borivali came to Bosco Boys’ Home (BBH) respectively on the 19 th and 20 th of December with celebrate and spread the spirit of Christmas to the boys of the orphanage. PARENTS MEETING

On the 5 th of November, 2018 the management and staff of Bosco Boys Home had organised a Parents meeting.   As the Diwali holiday came near the children of Bosco Boys Home were in happier mood as they were informed that they would be allowed to go home for few days for the Diwali celebration. Taking his opportunity, the staff decided to have a brief meeting of the children along with their parents informing them about the progress of their child and new projects been prepared for the betterment of the children. Fr. Corlis Gonsalves, the Director of the Institute, welcomed the parents and briefed them about the upcoming programmes been planned for the children and the new rules applied by the Child Welfare Committee for the children regarding the holidays. FAREWELL TO BR. SHELDON DIAS SDB AND WELCOME TO DN. ROMERO D’SOUZA SDB

Farewell to Sheldon & Welcome to Romero Our boys were enjoying the company of Br. Sheldon for the past 2 weeks. He really made our life in Bosco Boys Home interesting. We had a farewell party for Br. Sheldon Dias who has opted to work for the mission of Gambia in Africa. He studied in the Salesian school till the 8 th Standard after which he was selected and decided to be an Aspirant at Don Bosco Lonavala. He stayed there from 9 th to 12 th (HSC). He did his Pre novitiate in Goa and his Novitiate in Nashik where he expressed his feelings to the novice master of the missions; but was asked to finish his philosophy and then decide which he completed at Nashik. After which he was send to do his Practical Training in Gujarat, Narukot. The house catered to the tribals of the region, there he enjoyed working though at times life was hard and the boys appreciated his presence.
