A DAY WELL SPENT

On the 21 st of July, 2019 the engineering students from Dwarkadas Jivanlal Sanghvi College of Engineering, Vile Parle visited Bosco Boys Home, (BBH), Borivali as part of their National Service Scheme (NSS) programme under their NSS Program Officers Prof. Rahul Taware and Prof. Vyenkatesh Bagal. In all 60 students came to BBH and took part actively in animating the 70 children of BBH. Keeping in mind the core values of spreading love and joy. The NSS unit of the college organises an orphanage visit every year. Rajas Joshi, one of the volunteer shared, “we feel that no child should be deprived of unconditional love. As part of this motto we decided to spend these quality time with the children of BBH and share with them some precious moments of smiles and laughter.” In animating the boys, the volunteers performed a skit highlighting the virtue of true friendship followed by a creative activity where the volunteers dressed up the children as superheroes. THANK YOU DEAR FR. PROVINCIAL GODFREY D’SOUZA SDB

“Thank you for being the reason I smile” was theme for the thanksgiving programme for Fr. Provincial Godfrey D’Souza sdb organized by the children of Bosco Boys Home, (BBH), Borivali on 20 th July, 2019. As the term of Fr. Godfrey as the Provincial of Mumbai Province is coming to its culmination, the Management, Staff and the children of BBH saw it fitting to give him a sweet and entertaining good-bye by thanking him for the special predilection he had for BBH.              The children welcomed Fr. Provincial with a Hindi welcome song “Swagatham Dear Father Swagatham”. The Technical boarders sang the song “Never Alone” by Lady Antebellum for Fr. Provincial by letting him know that they are always praying for him and his apostolate. The CWC boys presented a fusion dance to the tune of songs from the movies Bharat and Kalank. SPECIAL TREAT FOR THE PARENTS

MUMBAI, JULY 18, 2019:  The Hotel Management department of Bosco Boys Home and Technical Institute,(BBHTI) Borivli organised a  lunch for all their parents to show to them the skills they acquired through the training of the well qualified staff of BBHTI. In all 30 students from batch number 38, joined forces in preparing the special treat for their parents lunch under the guidance of cookery teacher, Sonali Cheulkar and food and beverages service lecturer, Deepak Lala and the bakery teacher Rowena Ferreira. The lunch was divided into two courses namely main course and the desert. This programme was one of a kind, suggested by Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb, the Director of the Institute. HSI AND BBH COLLABORATE TO TOUCH THE YOUNG LIVES

The Holy Spirit interactive, (HSI) Group belonging to IC Church, Borivali visited the Borivli-based Bosco Boys Home (BBH) orphanage on July 16 . The purpose of the visit was to know about the life of the orphan children who lived in the home and how they were brought up with love and guided towards the right path by the Salesians living with them. Holy Spirit Interactive (HSI) is a lay apostolate recognized as an Association of Faith and Outreach by Bishop Paul Hinder of the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia and supported by dozens of other Bishops around the world. Founded in January 2004 by  Aneel Aranha , it is dedicated to strengthening the faith of Christians and spreading the Word of God around the world. Through its various ministries and activities, HSI reaches several million people each year. TETANUS VACCINE DRIVE AT BBH

MUMBAI, JULY 17, 2019:  The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai R-Central ward, Borivli West, Mumbai in collaboration with Bosco Boys Home (BBH) organised a health camp to administer tetanus vaccination to the boys of the Home on July 17. Father Corlis Gonsalves, Rector of the institute, welcomed Doctor Hemant Vakare and his team. Father Gonsalves thanked them for their kind initiative and service offered to the institute. The camp was organised as a preventive measure to help boys and technical students build up their immune system, so as to remain healthy during the monsoons. Deepak Thikkar addressed the gathering about the various monsoon-related diseases, like dengue, malaria and tuberculosis. PTA MEET AT BOSCO BOYS HOME TECHNICAL INSTITUTE

On 11 th June, 2019 the management and staff of Bosco Boys Home Technical Institute, (BBHTI), Borivali had organised a Parents meeting for the students of the Institute. The main objective of the meeting was to explain to the parents the training given by the institute to their children and the importance of following them after their training phase culminates and inculcating them the values of hard work and dedication. Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb, the Director of the BBHTI, welcomed the parents and briefed them about the different Technical, Hotel Management and General Duty Assistant (GDA)- Nursing programmes conducted in the institute. NEW YEAR, NEW HOPES, NEW DREAMS

On 10 th July, 2019, Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb, the Director of Bosco Boys Home and Technical Training Institute, (BBHTI), Borivali had organised a general staff meeting for the CWC, Technical and Hotel Management department of the Institute. The general idea behind the meeting was to introduce the newly appointed staff namely Mr. Manuel Dias as the Instructor of the Electricians, Mr. Keith D’Souza as the Instructor for the Automobile Department and Mrs. Anita Menezes as the Instructor for the General Duty Assistant- Nursing Course. The meeting was also used to pass on some general instructions related to the smooth functioning of the institute and to answer the queries if there were any. Fr. WELCOME TO DN. XAVIER BANDYA SDB

MUMBAI, JUlY 11, 2019:   Bosco Boys Home, (BBH) Borivali welcomed Dn. Xavier Bandya sdb to their community. He is appointed as the Perfect of Studies and the Catechist of the boys at the Shelter home (YAR cordinator) as well as the Vice Principal of the Technical Institute. Dn. Xavier arrived at BBH, after having completed the course of Bachelor Degree of Theology at Jnana DeepaVidyapeeth (JDV), Pune . Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb, the Director of BBH welcomed Dn. Xavier introduced him to the boys. The boys welcomed him with a melodious “Swagatham Dear Father” song and a beautiful free style dance on the song “Baki sab First Class hai”. As a welcoming gesture the boys presented Dn. Xavier with a beautiful welcome card. While thanking the boys for their kindness shown to him, he insisted the boys to apply themselves in studies and make it their immediate priority.
