COME AND SEE

Catechism Students of std 7th and 8th along with their teachers visited the Borivli-based Bosco Boys Home (BBH) orphanage on September 23. The purpose of the visit was to know about the life of the orphan children who lived in the home and how they were brought up with love and guided towards the right path by the Salesians living with them.

The Catechism students began their visit by having a session on “The Different Calls We Get in Life” taken by Cl. Jittin Mathew. Followed by a brief information on the orphanage and the boys staying there. Then Dn. Romero D’Souza shared with them the importance of prayer and been faithful to God in one’s life. He also briefed them about the rewards by having devotion to Mother Mary and the life of St. John Bosco. Thereafter the Catechism students were given some time to have an interactive session with the boys of the orphanage wherein they were asked to get to know each other better. In the brief dialogue, the students were amazed to know that a boy appearing for SSC has decided to join the Indian Navy, another std 5 boy was an excellent chess player who can defeat anyone. At the end of this interactive session, there were animated games of football, throwball and dodgeball conducted between the Catechism students and the boys of the orphanage.
We all noticed that the boys were energetic and interactive.

Shania Fernandes, a std 8th girl, from St Louis Parish said, “This visit is a lesson for all of us. God has given us everything we need and most importantly our parents who are always there to love us and correct us but these boys have Fathers and Brothers and other Staffs who love them and take care of them. God has definitely blessed them with many talents and with the training from the Bosco Boys Home and our help they too can go ahead in life. I also understood that God has blessed us immensely and that we should share our joys with others and respect and honor our parents. My best wishes to the boys in their future endeavours and blessings for their good health and success.”

One of the teacher Cassandra Dias shared, “I would like to thank the Management and Staff of Bosco Boys Home for being with us during our trip, sharing information about the boys, clicking our pictures and playing with us. I would also like to thank the priests, teachers of St Louis Parish and all those who made this visit an enjoyable experience.”

Durgesh Raut, one of the boy of the orphanage said, “Thank you Catechism Team of St. Louis for coming and visiting us. I really enjoyed spending time with all of you. God Bless and have a joyful day.”
