TREK TO BOSCOWADI




MUMBAI, OCTOBER 06, 2018: Boscowadi located at Gorai Beach, Sawant Wadi, has always been a picnic spot for all those who wanted to spend quality time together for having fun and some moments of laughter and get together. On October 06, the Hotel Management Batch of Bosco Boys Home and Technical Institue, Borivali, spent a memorable day at the nature-friendly resort at Boscowadi as a parting gift as they move ahead to their next level of training as part of their course.
25 students along with the staff set out early in the morning.  The journey itself was very interesting because of the singing, the goda-gadi riding and other fun all along the way. The day was filled with events such as trekking, games such as football and volley ball, rain dance, swimming and to top it all with a sumptuous lunch (chicken curry, pulav, dal fry and roti). Joy Dcunha, one of the staff said, “We had a wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves to the full. We wish luck to the students for their future endevours.”
One could see from the faces of the students that there indeed happy and ever grateful to the Salesians and the staff. They were filled with a sense of appreciation and generosity for all that they have received in the course as well as today as they concluded with this outing to Boscowadi. Kingston, one of the student had this to say: “Thanks for all your help and support. I will always be grateful to Don Bosco and to Bosco Boys Home and Technical Institute for giving a proper direction in life.”

On the occasion of Children’s day, the children of Bosco Boys Home (BBH), Borivali were joined in their celebration by famous T.V Actress Helly Shah along with the crew of India TV. The children sang songs, recited shayari, danced and played animated games with Helly. Helly Shah is an Indian television actress famous for her roles as Swara in Swaragini, Devanshi in Devanshi and Kaynaat in Sufiyana Pyaar Mera.   Helly Shah applauded the children for their enthusiasm, cheerfulness and energy. While speaking to children her advice was ‘to focus on their studies and to be obedient to their teachers and staff.’ Abbu Murugan, NIOS boys from BBH said, “Thankyou Helly Shah didi and India TV for visiting us. It was very great to see Helly didi, she so kind and loving. “Praise the Lord for all His wonders to me!” captures Fr. Aloysius inner sentiments as he celebrated his 60th year of the First Religious Profession on the 24th of May, 2020. FAREWELL TO BR. SHELDON DIAS SDB AND WELCOME TO DN. ROMERO D’SOUZA SDB

Farewell to Sheldon & Welcome to Romero Our boys were enjoying the company of Br. Sheldon for the past 2 weeks. He really made our life in Bosco Boys Home interesting. We had a farewell party for Br. Sheldon Dias who has opted to work for the mission of Gambia in Africa. He studied in the Salesian school till the 8 th Standard after which he was selected and decided to be an Aspirant at Don Bosco Lonavala. He stayed there from 9 th to 12 th (HSC). He did his Pre novitiate in Goa and his Novitiate in Nashik where he expressed his feelings to the novice master of the missions; but was asked to finish his philosophy and then decide which he completed at Nashik. After which he was send to do his Practical Training in Gujarat, Narukot. The house catered to the tribals of the region, there he enjoyed working though at times life was hard and the boys appreciated his presence.
